Loading the Chevy

We started this field, #3, yesterday.
Even with all the wind that we’ve been having, it’s still muddy.

Will be performing this Friday,
30 September 2005
at Fort Rockvale.

If we ever get out of here . . .

How tall is that corn?

We’ll see you for supper at 7 P.M.

Didn’t Springsteen write a song about this?

Born to run. . .
Time to run to Powell, Wyoming for parts.
Time to run to Billings for parts.
Time to run the parts back to the field or the shop.
Time to run.

Belfry Centennial Pioneer Day

Saturday, August 20th, 2005

This is Lydia Hergenrider. She didn’t have a photo in the Gazette article. But she does here. Aunt Lydia is 93 years young and always smiling - or laughing.

Parade Announcers - Dale and Elmer Webb.

Here’s Melvin Brown. He hates photos, so please don’t tell him.

Closeup of one of the many cars Gene Sticka entered in the parade.

Lovely Naomi in Grandpa Earl’s MG.

Harold Peterson came up from Bridger to show off one of his tractors. Harold’s hobby is restoring 2 cylinder tractors.

Burl Hodges and his team of Welshes.

Doug Spaulding is staying cool in the shade. He’s still serving up the barbecue. There’s a dance tonight, so if you’re in the neighborhood - c’mon up!

Cultivating Sugarbeets

Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

They don’t give me much room.

We brought a snack to the Baron - who is out cultivating.

Not a great shot of the tractor - but you can see snow on the peaks.

Lucky is waiting - she knows that when he gets here - he’ll share.

Getting to the end of the rows.

Twelve row cultivator turning around.

Lucky doesn’t mind getting on the back. Which was nice of her, since she was swimming in the ditch.

My View

Thursday, September 30th, 2004

This is what I’m going to be seeing for the next “who knows how long”.

Wish List:

1. Mother Nature is feeling cooperative.
2. The old and tired machinery keeps on running.
3. The old and tired farmers keep on running.

I should post it every day as a reminder of how exciting farming can be.

Business is picking up here, too…
