I'm physically incapable of making a long story short - and I've been making short stories long for years.

Amen on the brrr comment. Calving time is not my favorite time of year and that is pretty sad because we have calves hitting the ground year around. My wife and I manage our cow herd by a sort benign neglect. We have a closed herd but we know our cows are professionals when it comes to calving. I don't think I have lost a calf in the past few years.

The grass is really growing down our way. Winter isn't ready to head out the door just yet, but spring can't be far away when we have a week like his week. Sunny with highs approaching 70.

This weekend was our valley's Almond Blossom Festival. It was a great time.

Hope you and the critters are doing fine, stay warm.

Thought about this some more. Twins often come early. I'd say she did pretty good if March 1 is due day. I bet Mama Cow is glad that gestation is over. Where they were, two is a crowd!!

You have to like that where a set of twins are involved. I was out this morning and my heart skipped a beat when I thought I saw a newborn, we're not supposed to start for a month yet.

At least they aren't TOO early. They could have started coming a week or more early. And at least the babies look good.
