Since she calved last year in September, we’ll call it an early calf. It’s a boy!

Just found your blog yesterday, and spent a big chunk of the afternoon reading your archives. Loved it all, and was moved to tears reading the entries surrounding your husband’s illness. I grew up on a cattle ranch out in the middle of nowhere between Lewistown and Roundup, and your blog is a wonderful reminder of that way of life and how much I miss it.
I’m sorry for the loss of your cattle. I know it’s more than the financial hit that makes it so difficult.
I’ll be reading.

You have been having the horrible temps we’ve been having. I know that doesn’t make it any easier. It’s been hot this year. Finally it will cool down but that means that “other” season is approaching and THAT seems too soon. I love summer and sunshine. Can understand the beauty of the bull standing in the coolness of waist high water.
I’m hoping that this fall you’re facing smooth sailing and happy days.
