Not my calf
It shouldn’t be too long, though. I put the bulls in on the 20th of May. A cow’s gestation period is 283 days. There can be extremes either side of those days. I’m hoping that the girls start around the first week of March. According to the weather forecasts it should be warmer and drier then. We’ll see. . .
This little bull was born to one of Lynn’s first calf heifers.

He looks very sullen and angry to have gone from being warm and cozy to being outside in the cold! Not that I blame him!

I’ve got to stop eating beef. He’s too cute. You are going to be very busy March. This should be fun to watch…vicariously of course. I know it’ll be hectic but would love to see pictures.

Babies are cute. Cassie’s sheep have lots of little lambs (one set of triplets so she is feeding one with a bottle) and Al’s sow had 13 piglets when it was -17 the other morning. We are all happy that the weather has moderated a little bit. Enough frozen waterers and broken pipes for one season! We haven’t seen the sun for several days. Guess we need to pay the sunshine bill as living in the Big Horn Basement is getting old.
