It’s Coming on Christmas
It’s coming on Christmas
they’re cuttin’ down trees.
They’re puttin’ up reindeer
and singin’ songs of joy and peace,
Oh, I wish I had a river
I could skate away on.
But it don’t snow here;
stays pretty green.
I’m gonna make a lot of money,
then I’m gonna quit this crazy scene,
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on.
I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
Oh, I wish I had a river
I could skate away on.
I made my baby cry.
He tried hard to help me,
you know, he put me at ease
and he loved me so naughty,
made me weak in the knees,
Oh, I wish I had a river
I could skate away on.
I’m so hard to handle
I’m selfish and I’m sad,
Now I’ve gone and lost
the best baby
that I ever had.
Oh, I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on.
I made my baby say good-bye.
It’s coming on Christmas
they’re cuttin’ down trees.
They’re puttin’ up reindeer
and singin’ songs of joy and peace,
Oh, I wish I had a river
I could skate away on.

Nobody can say it or sing it like Joni.Funny, I have been listening to that song for the last couple of weeks. Bittersweet.

I was just thinking about that song and considering putting it on my blog in some form or another. Now I won’t have to. Take good care Karen. You are in my thoughts.

I didn’t even known you had moved, Karen! I’ve been so busy with so much stuff, I haven’t been to alot of pages as of recent. I’m glad you’re on your own now and will update my blogroll accordingly. Have a very Merry Christmas and I hope to hear from you in 2007!

It was great to spend another Christmas at home. I know I have much to be thankful for. Just proof, I guess, that you can’t kill a weed!
Think of you every morning when I look at the themometer and know if your cattle are going to eat, you are going to be out in the cold. bonnie

I’ve discovered your site through others … you know, one leads to another leads to another leads to another … and I’m thankful I have! Montana is one of my favorite states (I used to be a long-haul trucker), so that’s what grabbed me first … then your writing … Thank you for sharing your corner of our world. I look forward to getting to “know” you better.
Happy New Year!
