There’s nothing like a homegrown potato! My grandpa’s used to taste like buttery heaven… mmmmmm…..

And here I was believing that I was the only person who hadn’t harvested her spuds yet although my tops died down quite some time ago.
I wish I knew how to harvest without nicking the taters with the shovel.

Looks like a bumper crop of spuds. Hope the baron gets his diabetes worked out so he can enjoy some of them, too. bonnie

Jough - mmmmm. . . is right.
Roo - They’re pretty low maintenance. Except the digging part.
Granny - I’ve had volunteer spuds in the fields ( I switch gardening plots every year) from ones that never got dug the year before. I use a spud fork, but I do some digging with my hands - I hate to spear them.
Bonnie - He already has! I got waylaid by the onions - now the porch smells like them. I got some dug, but have lots more. One herd is in that field now. Good thing cows don’t dig much.

I like a little baked potato with my butter. ;=) (If diabetes is going to kill me, I intend to go out on my terms.)
