AimeeRoo - I just ask them to decorate it as a carrot cake - but make the carrots white & fat (hopefully)like sugar beets. Costco did this for us.

Bonnie - there will be more parties :)

KH in MO - closer to Belfry, but you know your landmarks.

Linn - I'm not too thrilled with the snow right now. Fingers and toes are crossed for warmer temps.

Robert - Oh, the rest of the harvest is off to a great start. Sigh. . .

Shelly - Yes, it did a number on our trees, too.

Anon - Well, that's the truth. I doubt that they were ready 100 years ago either. During corn harvest, I kept threatening to set the chopper on fire. But it's green (and yellow) and probably wouldn't burn. A friend offered some dynamite. With the price of fuel, I'm glad that we raised so much oats. We may have to buy some more horses. . .

I am really homesick. The first snow fall, sorry about that for you. The season change. Hot and windy here today.
Spoke with my mom in Billings. She lost most of her trees! Most of them ended up on her neighbor's home!

Good Luck!

I really miss this time of year in farm country. I guess I should really get serious about moving out of suburbia. Hope the rest of your harvest goes well.

I can imagine your fields look quite a bit different after this early snow. Maggie having a lot of fun this a.m. discovering the white stuff, but I imagine the Sugar Beet Baron is not enjoying this bit of moisture at all. Linn

No beet harvest here, either. Had a good half inch and it looks like more any minute although the sun did shine a little this afternoon. We still have a lot of hay down.

Always hate to miss a party but sometimes there just isn't any way. bonnie
