I'm physically incapable of making a long story short - and I've been making short stories long for years.

I have to watch my cats too. One of them will devour a whole turkey if she is in the house while it is on the counter or table. The other one makes a bee line for the ice cream bowl, if I set it down for a minute. She ate 5 whole chops in one sitting? I would have been more than a little peeved...lol

It takes a lot to surprise me. My malamute Ti stole anything edible - her idea of edible, not mine: frozen chicken; a pan of brownies (she got on the kitchen counter and left the pan there - with just the crispy corners still intact); muskrats from traps; road apples; can of Crisco; bags of flour; and my all time favorite - bean dip that she opened a styrofoam cooler to get to. The rest of that Jeep ride was pungent.

The rice cakes were peanut butter & chocolate chip ones - still like eating packing peanuts.

This surprises you why? I have 8 dogs and one of them is extremely agile and can jump a 4ft chain link fence from a stand still. That is Tug. Another is a rather large but agile dog named Rip, half lab, half mystery. I had a hamburger patty on the back eye of the stove in a little pan cooking away. When I went to get it, no burger. Either Tug jumped up on the stove or Rip reached it someway but a dog stole it while it was cooking. That one did surprise me. Dogs are amazing creatures and inventive when it comes to food and thievery.

My brother had a wonderful Sheltie mix who enjoyed a wide variety of "food," including raw carrots and potatoes, a used tea bag (we hope, it had a string), Hershey Kisses, and a dozen chocolate chip cookies he had to get onto the kitchen table to eat. He died of old age.

Now I have to admit I am a little ashamed of Sugar if she will eat rice cakes. BUT if you had a choice of boneless sirloin pork chops and dog food, what would you eat? She isn't dumb, either! You'll have to leave her outside when you are cooking. bonnie
