Your last comment killed me…I waved this week to as many people as I could and cracked a big ass smile when they waved back. And for the record, I use the sports setting on my digital camera to take pictures like that WHILE driving. Did it last summer on Going-to-the-Sun! God, I miss MT!

I’m driving down the road as if I was in England. I watch for dust - which is usually the first sign of another vehicle. I’m so accustomed to there being no traffic, that when I do meet an oncoming vehicle - usually a double tanker - I have to wake up & swerve back to the right side of the road. And being from Montana, I have to recover enough to wave, of course.

I’m very happy with it. It’s so much nicer to delete the cruddy shots. Lots less $pent that way. And no waiting for developing.

But I’ll never part with my film cameras.

I can probably hide my gofer cap on Sunday. But not the shuttle driver hat.

Hopefully you had stopped to take these photographs. Remember, digital photography and driving don’t mix (I speak from experience–I tried taking a picture of the city limit sign of Ashton, Idaho and almost ran off the road. The reason I was taking such a picture was because the son of a good friend of mine here in AZ–a real smart kid who’s going to graduate from Southern Cal at the age of 20–has the last name of Ashton.)
