Looks like Craig got you already. when you speak to Craig again, lert him know he will be the first person to do my new meme. THE MOST EVIL MEME IN THE WORLD!

  2. Sarpy Sam Says:

Just curious, vacation. I’ve heard of that term before but I have no idea what it means. Can you define it for this poor cowboy?

  3. Anonymous Says:

Two words that people who persue agriculture as gainful employment have no idea what they mean are “vacation” and “profit”. (Actually the Brits, Canucks and Aussies have a better word for vacation. They always say they’re “on holiday.”)

For those who care, I have answered these evil querys. You all have been warned.

Kirk from Mesa, AZ (where it’s 112 degrees today)

  4. Anonymous Says:

Kirk, I just read an email from a friend up the creek towards Shell from Greybull where it was 111.4 today. Only about 101 here. Must be some smoke in the air as the sunset was beautiful. bonnie

  5. KarbonKountyMoos Says:

Sam - I’m intrigued - EVIL you say?!

Sarpy - Damned if I know.

I had a few experiences today that I will write about soon. I am so glad that Bonnie & Kirk responded to the meme - Thank You!

I wished that I had my camera when I drove through Bridger this evening (back from Billings run) - the bank clock read 119 F. I’d imagine it was off a few degrees.

  6. Anonymous Says:

Since y’all are having a hot spell (methinks the sun was shining directly on the Bridger bank sign though–119 sounds a bit high, even though I remember like yesterday when it hit 122 here some years back; the planes coundn’t take off because the charts telling pilots how much power to use to get airborne stopped at 120), I must ask Moos (who is originally from the Big Apple–the Baron must be one charming fellow), and anybody who has either moved to Montana or Wyoming from the Midwest, East or Deep South, or who currently resides in these places which is worse: 110 with little or no humidity, or the high 90’s in both. (The most miserable summer I can remember was when I visited my mother’s family in St. Louis in July of 1966–I was actually a child at the time–and it was over 100 every day we were there with humidity in the low 90’s).

Kirk & Sheba (safely ensconsed in our trailer home with the evap cooler running full blast–in running for the Wimp of the Century)

  7. Anonymous Says:

Kirk, the humidity is 38 which is a long way from 98 but I think over 100 degrees is HOT where ever you are. It is 87 in the house and the swamp cooler is still in storage. I am not saying anything as the whole crew is in fast forward working on combines because the barley is ripening fast in the heat. That is working on combines between changing irrigation water and feeding cattle.

The coldest I ever was was in Kanarado, Kansas where the humidity was 95, temp 12 above and the wind at about 25 mph. Prefer 20 below here and no wind! bonnie

  8. Randy Says:

Sarpy Sam, vacation is what you used to call “leave” when you were in the navy.

Vacation is similar leave except in the navy you had someone to pick up the slack when you were gone but now the work awaits you when you get back.

Fill out your leave chit, give it to the Darling Wife and see if you can get away from the homestead. :-D
