Sugar Beets in Oxnard, California
Thank You Julie,
for these great photos.
I finally visited the doctor yesterday. Hopefully, the prescription will help. For someone who never gets sick - this cold/bronchitis whatever the heck it is is knocking me out. I apologize for not keeping up with my correspondence and blog. Blogger has been acting up on top of it all. I’ve been having quite a time posting photos…
We’ve had a few days of fun with frozen self waterers, and electrical disasters. We didn’t get much snow, but the cold is biting and the wind doesn’t want to quit. This morning I had to catch Teeter and Tuffy (our horses were already named when we bought them). The two knuckleheads didn’t want to cross the creek. I had already broken the ice in a few places, but they still wouldn’t budge. I think it’s the crackling sound more than anything that bothers them. Anyhow, I had to take my gloves off to halter them, and my fingers are still cold… So we walked down the road, over the bridge, and through the yard to the east side of the pasture. Now, if I didn’t want them to come over here, they’d have been here in a heartbeat!

Blogger System Status reports why I’ve had a hard time posting, reading, and commenting lately. Sorry you aren’t feeling good! Get well soon! Isn’t there some HoreHound Root growing somewhere near your farm?

You really DO need some hot-buttered rum! Take care and try to stay out of the cold.

That is an interesting picture. Those look like side by side lime kilns on the right. I wonder why they had two if they both are indeed lime kilns?
