Another old linen from Billings. According to the back of the card:
This beautiful modern Bus Terminal, one of the finest in the northwest, is located in the business district of the city and serves to link the “East” with the “West”.
Anyone know when it was built? I’m asking because I don’t know.

1938 comes to mind. The reference desk at the library would probably know.

That is very cute… it’s too bad they don’t still build in the modern style of the 40’s and 50’s. That would be my guess of the age, mainly because they were obsessed with space travel, and modern looking everything.

According to http://www.agilitynut.com/bus.html
the Billings Greyhound depot was “designed in 1944 by Elmer F. Link”

That is a neat card, Karen.
I can remember my grandmother coming on the bus many times with her old case and a card board box or two tied up with twine. She worked in Helena and then in Miles City and I think she had to change buses in Laurel from either direction to come to Wyoming. She rode buses all over the US by herself. Eventually when she was close to 70 she learned to drive and would show up in her Nash Rambler. bonnie

Elmer Link was a well known architect in Billings. I believe the style is Art Deco.

Very Art Deco - GD…
I e-mailed the woman who created the Greyhound site that Montannie & I linked above. It turns out that she lives about 5 blocks from where I was born! I told her that I’ll take a current photo of the terminal for her.
