Thanks Ghost Dog!

I have a few postcards of the factory - this one comes in the b&w and the colorized versions. I have some later ones, too. I aso have a few different cards from the P.O. News Store.

I have scanned most of my cards - the resolution on them is better than here on the blog. If you'd like any of them, I'd be glad to e-mail them to anyone who appreciates them. I'm always amazed at how much detail the scanned images contain. Nothing better than a big negative to work with!

Post Office News was located in the James Hotel Building on the 2600 Block of 1st Avenue North and was one of the busineses destroyed in the big fire in late December 1975. They relocated across the street and the business is now know as Stogies. The site is where the Sheraton now sits.

That is what the factory looked liked when it was completed in 1906. In the foreground is where the employee parking lot is now. BAck then, the factory owned and fed its own sheep and cattle.

Thanks for your wonderful comment on my site! :)

I thought you might be interested in this book. I got it a little while ago, and it is just so cute. Since you enjoy old postcards, and Halloween, this could be fun for you. They can be mailed:
