Windy Billings Afternoon

Monday, August 23rd, 2004

Spent most of the afternoon in Billings. Had to pickup alfalfa seed. Checked on the pump motor. Was told that it would be ready later in the day. So when I went to pick it up I was surprised to find out that it wasn’t ready. Oh well, I guess that I’ll put the 120 miles on the car tomorrow.

Too much fun

Sunday, August 22nd, 2004

Well, Pioneer Day was fun. Enjoyed the parade and the auction. I didn’t take any photos, but I’ll try to find a few. Looks like they raised a bit of money for the community, and that’s always good. I went home to kidnap Mr. Karbon Kounty. So we went to the street dance. It was a great opportunity to “visit” with friends and neighbors. Met up with an old friend, Jack from Lynchburg - who I hadn’t seen in some time… Soon after, I gave my husband the keys.

This morning, on autopilot, I made breakfast. Scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, coffee & juice. After that we sat for a bit with the Sunday paper. The farmer went out to bale, and I moseyed back to the bed. Naah - only stayed there for a few minutes and started feeling guilty. Then I started feeling something else. Hmmm - probably shouldn’t have had that sausage, probably shouldn’t have had that orange juice.

Funny, it never crossed my mind - probably shouldn’t have drank all that bourbon…

Lunch was much better, but I’m still having a hard time looking at that carton of low acid orange juice in the fridge.

Well, I hope that some of you who are out & about on Saturday take a drive to Carbon County.

Not only is Belfry having its Pioneer Day - but I just heard from Gebo Mel about this.
